Since the beginning of June 2022, Mirijam Salfinger has been working as a university assistant Praedoc in the Department of Theological Ethics at the Institute of Systematic Theology and Ethics. She completed her diploma studies in Catholic theology - with a semester abroad in Madrid and two research stays in El Salvador - at the University of Vienna. In her diploma thesis she worked on the actuality of Latin American liberation theology, which continues to be her main area of research. Her dissertation is dedicated to Latin American ecofeminism.

An Ecofeminist Utopia – the Hope for a Common Future

The talk of utopias is part of the Christian tradition. It is tantamount to a dream for the future and at the same time a critique of the present reality. Mirijam Salfinger sees ecofeminism from Latin America as a meaningful utopia in the face of the crises of our time.
